Our fee: 10% of Lump-sum Pension Refund

Example for a 1 million JPY lump-sum pension refund:

800,000JPY
(Payment Paid, after income tax deducted)
Transferred to your bank account by Japanese government
100,000JPY
(Tax Refund)
Sent to you by YouAT
100,000JPY
(Tax Refund)
Our fee

If the total refund is 1 million JPY, 800,000 JPY (80%) goes directly to the bank account. 200,000 JPY (20%) is initially withheld for income tax, but YouAT claims this back. YouAT's fee is 100,000 JPY (10%), and the remaining tax refund is sent to the bank account later.

In this case you don't have to pay our fee in advance nor afterwards.

  • The above example is the case of Kosei Nenkin (厚生年金, employees' pension insurance). The majority of non-Japanese employees falls into this category. If the case of Kokumin Nenkin (国民年金, national pension), please pay our fee directly because it has no tax refund to get refunded. Before we claim your lump-sum pension refund we will inform you whether you are in Kosei Nenkin or Kokumin Nenkin through the research.
  • If you are employed for a short period but pay much amount for pensions, it is possible that a little part of 20% tax won't be refunded.
  • We send you necessary forms and guidance via email, and examine all of your documents before claiming. Please mail us completed documents.
  • Mailing costs from you and tax refund's transaction costs from us are not included in our fee.
  • Cost to submit notification to move out (転出届) and / or other additional certificates will be added to our fee, if they need for the claiming process (1,000 JPY for notification to move out, and basically 5,000JPY per one additional certificate).
